July ’25 Chess League Results

We owe a debt of gratitude to the Columbia County Library for our continued partnership! The Chess League continued through July with another 30+ Registrants!

Open Section

Competition continues to heat up as WIlliam Bowman, the Commissioner of the Scholastic Chess League enters the competition! He goes a perfect 4.0 / 4 on the day taking the first place prize for July! Darby Williams returns after the birth of his son to go 3.0 / 4 winning second place outright; Jacob Hanna and newcomer Trevor O’Kane finish 2.5 / 4 in a tie for third place! Eric “Lucky” Walker holds a slim lead over young prodigies Lily She and Abigail Lin in the Overall Standings!

U1000 Section

Gurnoor Farmaha (2nd from the right) and Vedant Tiwari (right) finish in a 1st Place tie going 3.5 / 4 points on the day! Peter Newton (left), Vivek (2nd from the left) and Isaiah German (middle) finish 3.0 / 4 points taking their share of 3rd place! Gary Richards continues to hold his lead, may it be a slim lead… only half-a-point! Gurnoor Farmaha and Peter Newton are right in the running for the 1st Place prize!
