Columbia County Chess association

The Columbia County Chess Association proudly offers playing opportunities to Augusta and the Columbia County area, to include Augusta, Evans, Martinez, Grovetown, and Appling. With certified United States Chess Federation (USCF) tournament directors we offer rated chess matches of varying time controls throughout the year.

Weekly USCF Rated & Casual Play

Wednesday Chess is currently paused while we find a new location, we will let everyone know when we restart.

CCCA Chess League with monthly USCF Regular Rated Tournaments

As a part of the year-long running league play, players of all levels compete for the Title, prize and bragging rights as the league winnings of each section will be memorialized in the “League Trophy”.

4 Rounds of G/30;d10 games will be played at the Columbia County Library, Room A. Games will begin after opening announcements at approximately 10:15 am.

USCF Membership required for rated play.

Free (casual) play will also be offered in the library’s cafe.

Scholastic Events and Outreach

Columbia County offers opportunities for scholastic play through both:

CRSA Scholastic Chess League
- Participating schools provide a 6-player teams to compete against other schools
  - Upper School League
  - Middle School League
- League lasts 12 weeks, 2 games each week
  - G/25;d5 games
Elementary Scholastic Chess Clubs
- Assisting and running after school chess clubs
- Lessons from our Elementary Chess Clubs
